AspireNorth Build A PC Event

Pupils from four Aberdeen secondary schools will participate in a Build A PC event up at the Garthdee Campus tomorrow 31st Jan 2013.

ASPIRENorth is a Schools for Higher Education Programme working in the North of Scotland funded by the Scottish Funding Council (SFC). It supports regional collaboration between schools, colleges and universities to increase progression to higher education in both colleges and universities and in turn supports the Scottish Executive’s target of increasing participation in HE from publicly funded schools.

The overarching objective of ASPIRENorth is to facilitate young people in making more positive and better informed decisions about their post-school educational choices.

On the 31st Jan we will be hosting an Aspire North class up at room H403, a classroom in the Faculty of Health building. We will be running a Build-A-PC class for 3rd and 4th year pupils between 2pm and 3pm… The number of pupils looking to take part started off popular at 20 and very soon maxed out the attendance for the class at 30.

Daniel Doolan will be presenting the class with Doug Morrison running the second half with a technical hands on workshop where the pupils will be putting a PC together.
