Personal

I am originally from the village of New Deer in Aberdeenshire and now live in Aberdeen with my wife Jay.

We are both committed Christians and members of Oldmachar Church in Bridge of Don; I also spend a lot of time doing voluntary work with the charity North East Scotland Youth for Christ of which I'm currently executive chairperson. I'm a former officer in the Boys' Brigade out in New Deer, former Secretary of the RGU Research Students' Association, founding President of the RGU Student Voice debating society and still am an occasional member of RGU's Toast Appreciation Society. I also enjoy hillwalking, pool and am an avid Family Guy and Father Ted fan, and occasionally enjoy a pub quiz. I was elected Student Governor (Postgraduate) for RGU over the 2007-9 academic years.
