My homepage

Hi, my name is Ulises and I'm a computer science PhD student at The School of Computing - RGU. I worked for a while with David J. Harper, however now I'm working with Ian Ruthven, Mark Baillie and Patrik O'Brian Hölt. If you find anything good in the publications section, that's thanks to me, me and me them.

In a nutshell, I conform very well with the PhD student stereotype, so spare me the sarcastic remarks.

Information Bridges

I work mainly in Information Retrieval (IR). My work is focused in the use of statistical models for building connections between topics and in investigating the criteria used by people when judging the relevance of documents. This investigations take place in a scenario where the related information to a particular topic is what the user is actually after. This was previously investigated by D.Swanson under the name of Undiscovered Public Knowledge (UPK), modernly known as Literature Based Discovery (LBD). If you want to read a bit more about this then just keep reading.

In Publications you will find some of my published work. And in Some useful(?) links you will find some links I've gathered. They might actually be useful to you.
