Since my original posting about preparing for Applicants Day, things have moved on quite dramatically. We now have a much more cemented in timetable for our Microsoft visitor. now we have spaces set aside for our lecturers and current student population to meet with a Microsoft representative to see how we can work more closely in the future.
For the Applicants Day we have managed to secure two offers for workshops to run on the Saturday and Wednesday days coming up. One workshop is going to centrate on an introduction to developing applications for an Android phone with David Davidson and the other is from our newest lecturer Richard Glassey on Human Computation. We have also set aside some areas that parents will be more interested in to coincide with those events. Alongside our talks we will also have demonstrations of student work (that’s in part III) and some demo’s of some of our own equipment, namely our Microsoft Surface (See unboxing video and blog post here) which will be managed by one of our own students, Ben Horsburgh and our Green room, cameras and lights setup (some You tube Video’s here here and here from one of our students, Michael Koziatek.
